I also tried making the boot from usb the primary boot device. But when I try to press f12 to select a one time boot as a usb device, it doesn't detect the usb cd/dvd rom either. Since that doesn't work I am trying to use my usb dvd/cd rom drive to install an os. Though the cd rom drive is detected in the bios. I then placed an os boot cd in there and that doesn't work. It will not open and I have to use a paper clip to pop the tray out. But now the internal CD rom drive is not working. So, now I am trying to install another os on it. I am working on a dell inspiron 1525 and the vista/recovery disc on the HDD got corrupted. The CD still does not boot up, Windows XP loads as normal.ĭo any of you guys have any idea how I can get it to boot up?
